Appearance: Kyra is slender, with curves and has a muscular build. Her face is soft and oval shaped. Her hair is long and she usually wears it pulled up at the sides, keeping strands from flying around her face, though most of the time it looks stringy as it is baby fine. She considers her eyes her best feature, the green is close to that of an emerald, dotted with golden flecks around the iris and they reflect her emotions, either darkening with anger or lightening with desire or happiness. She tries to hold her emotions at bay, making her seem hard and cold, which is the opposite of what she really is. Her normal attire consists of jeans and tee-shirts, occasionally a button down, with black soft leather boots. When she must, she will dress up, letting the occasion dictate what she wears. She is rather blunt at time, making people leery of her in the beginning, but then finding that she is one that just would rather tell the truth and be done with it, that to skirt around the edges of a topic.

Personality: Kyra is normally very laid back and casual, though most find it hard to read her at first. Though she seems laid back and open, she is very guarded about her life, especially her past, as she had learned that her abilities have caused many to shy away from her. She does have a sense of humor, though sometimes it is lost on others. She finds many things humorous that most do not as she tends to try to look at that side of life.

History: Kyra is from upstate New York. Her Father is dead, killed by a vampire that was trying to get to her. The vampire apparently had affection for young children, she was 12 at the time. Her mother still lives and runs a bed and breakfast, trying always to get Kyra to return home and help her. She refuses as she fears that the vampire will come back and kill her mother. In her mind, she knows that the vampire now has no interest in her, but the fear still lingers.

Her mother is a practicing witch and many come to her for potions and remedies, but Kyra never desired much of that life, never learning or being part of her mother’s world, though her mother tried and hoped she would follow in her footsteps. She did learn about her animator abilities from her mother, as apparently her grandfather was an animator and in some of the potions her mother made, she would use Kyra’s blood, thinking that it made them stronger, more potent and it didn’t, no matter the potion.

At her young age she didn’t understand what an animator was and the full implications of her ability. Her father was actually the first one that she raised as a zombie, thinking that her family could be whole again, but not fully understanding the implications and harm that would come to him from being raised. After 3 days of hiding him, she gave up and sought out her mother’s help to put him back in his grave. She decided after that to not use her animating ability again as it could only cause harm, though on and off throughout the years, she raised animals and even a few people, until she realized that she had to raise them or her power would do it on its own. She never really gave much thought to using her animator ability as a profession until she graduated college with a degree in Literature and Art and couldn’t find a job that paid decent money.

While searching for a job, she found that there were people that would pay money to have family members raised for various reasons. She found a mentor and began training as an animator, working under his instruction for 3 years before striking out own her own. She worked with a licensed business at first, but has grown tired of being hired out to raise the dead for the right amount of money. She quit, though she enjoys the money she made, she is now looking for something more to do with her degree. She is now thinking about starting a bookstore with a specific focus on the preternatural beings and occult activities. Then perhaps, she’ll only animate on the side, using it enough to keep her from accidentally raising the dead.

Strengths: Living in Upstate New York kept her secluded, though guarded, so she tends to seem a bit tense and aloof. Kyra has gut instincts that she usually follows, as rarely has the instinct failed her. She has taken karate lessons in the past and still practices as a form of exercise. She is a fairly fast runner for a female, running at least 5 miles a day, more if she has time. She has been told that her legs are strength and that is what most men remark on first, it annoys her and tends to turn her off. Her animator abilities are trained, but not to the full potential. In her short professional career as an animator, she raised around 150 zombie’s total. She can raise and control them, but when their mind begins to crumble, she losses that control. She currently owns two guns and practices with them - a Smith & Wesson 1911 pistol, silver with a wood handle and a Detective’s Special .38, the .38 was her fathers.

Weaknesses: Her greatest weakness is fear of emotions. Once someone discovers this, she locks herself up and usually ends the relationship. She has yet to meet a man that will hang around long after that, she thinks there are none that are strong enough to break her and hold her at the same time. Her animator abilities can be a weakness, especially when she is emotional upset, as the ability can easily become uncontrollable.

Quirks: She is a clean, neat freak. Getting upset when dirty items are left about her house. She is quickly annoyed when someone doesn’t look her in the face. She is a sucker for Chocolate Almond Ice Cream and Waffle cones.
