Eyes: Dark Blue
Personality:
Growing up with four brothers in a rural setting Nixie is as tough as nails
and has a rather tomboy attitude at times. Of course a life surrounded by
family has left her with a need to be with people, she hates to be alone and
pretty much friendless in New Orleans has left her rather depressed, the red
head often frequenting its many bars in search of company. The Hunter part of
Nixie however is ruthless and highly skilled, the darker side of her soul
enjoying the hunt, always wanting bigger and better jobs that price really
doesn’t bother her. Despite her almost two sided personality, Nixie is easy
going most of the time, only getting serious when it needs to be. History: The
youngest of five children and the only girl to boot, Nixie’s life was far
from boring in the Scottish highlands. The family lived and still live in a
small community outside Inverness, her father working on a nearby farm whilst
her mum worked in town as a secretary so as to be able to support their five
children. A loner at school, Nixie just always hung out with her
brothers who were more than happy to have her around thanks to her sharp wit
and capabilities to give as well as she got when she got into fights with
other school boys. In her teenage years, jut shortly after turning 14, her
brother Toby was wooed and then spirited away by a rouge master vampire. Her
father, brothers and herself searched for weeks, months for Toby with no luck
and no leads to his whereabouts, the only info they could gleam was that the
vampire woman who took him had emerald green eyes. It was a lost cause, but
Nixie wouldn’t give up, her father after much coaxing training her year after
year until she became the Executioner for Inverness and surrounding areas. It was in those years that she claimed the name of Morrigan,
the Celtic goddess of death, and thus why she got the tattoo of blackthorn,
the plant being one of the goddess’s symbols. It was her search for her brother that lead Nixie to America and then to New Orleans where she continues the fight to discover Toby’s whereabouts. After four years of staying
in the one place, the Scottish hunter with itchy feet is finally settling in,
though the concept of having a stable job, a car and apartment of her own
still surprises her often even after so long. After Tams left, Dewberry and
herself set up Head Hunters and have had many successful cases including the
lycanthrope murders. Of course when Hurricane Katrina hit, Nixie put her job
on hold to help out in any way she could, supplying food and helping rebuild.
Strengths:
Nixie has made hunting the preternatural her whole life since she was
fourteen, and through perhaps both her Scottish heritage and religious
upbringing has developed an almost “old fashioned” way of hunting, her
favourite weapons of choice being the bow and arrow and crossbow, silver of
course. Seeing as her father had limited weaponry in the way of firearms,
except of the typical rifle, Nixie was trained in the use of every other
available piece of arsenal first. Knives, spears, stakes, anything that was
possible to create from her surroundings she made and then practiced with,
both on foot and horse back. It has thus given her the handy skill of being able
to prize a collection of dangerous items from just about anything when the
going gets rough. Weaknesses:
Nixie is a people person and being alone and lonely often leaves her highly
distracted which isn’t always a good thing on jobs. She misses her family a
lot, but knows she can’t return just yet, the red head still in search of her
brother. Toby, the brother she is searching for is another weakness and often
fuel fits of rage when things go wrong regarding his search. Quirks:
Other than fighting talents, Nixie is fluent in Gaelic and a killer cook,
able to create a three course meal from a tomato, block of cheese and a slice
of bread. Other: One
major scar runs from under her right breast to the small of her back across
her stomach thanks to over zealous newly dead vampire with a kitchen knife. |
