Appearance: Looking at Tams, there doesn’t seem to be anything not of the ordinary about him. He’s quite slim, not stick thin but healthy slim, with a bit of muscle but compared to his partner Dewberry, he’s not muscled at all. His brown hair is usually kept short, usually gelled and his most refining feature is probably his eyes which are a dark blue, almost ocean.

He can usually be found slouching around in casual wear until on the beat where it is shirts and ties, and definitely a suit or tuxedo when the time calls for it.

Personality: Tams has a strange sense of humour, finding most things in life funny and a joker. He loves to pull pranks on people and always tries to wind Dewberry up, as he knows he can get away with it and that most people would get knocked out for it.He is chronically lazy, much preferring to play games on his computer to doing any actual paperwork but when the job calls for it, he is efficient and effective. He gets straight to the point and is very good at interrogation and questioning; he is the department’s leading man for both areas. He does the talking while Dewberry sits and looks menacing.

He harbors a dislike of lycanthropes but never lets it get in the way of his job.

History: Jeremy was born and grew up in New Orleans, the only place he’s ever known as home. His father was in the police force, a dog handler and occasional beat officer, and his mother was in the army, working on the desks as a secretary. Jeremy grew up wanting to be a soldier or police officer with equal passion, sometimes tipping from one to the other when his parents told him stories about his work.

The thing with Jeremy was that he was lazy though. To get in the police force and Army meant working hard at school and getting good grades, something that he wasn’t interested in. This greatly disappointed his parents but to make up for it, he did pursue activities outside of school, taking karate and kick boxing classes and practicing techniques with his father.

When he was at high school, his father decided to teach him how to use guns, as though it didn’t look like Jeremy was going to make it into the force because of his laziness, he was interesting in his line of work. So they started going down to the local shooting range and Jeremy was taught how to use guns. He proved to be very good with hand guns, easily getting the grasp of him and when he was old enough, he got his licenses and was able to have his own.

His sibling however was another story. Jeremy’s sister, Elisha was a year older than him with similar ambitions and the drive to see them through. Since she was a little girl, she had always wanted to be in the air force as a pilot and worked hard at school, unlike her brother. She eventually got where she wanted to be and started to train as a pilot. Jeremy wasn’t at all envious as he adored his sister and was very happy for her. It was just such a shame it proved to be her undoing.

One night the Tams received a phone call, saying that Elisha had been attacked. They rushed to the hospital where she had been sent and found to their shock, that she wasn’t there. The staff explained that Elisha had managed to get off the stretcher despite her injuries and had attacked the staff before running into the night. They went home that night, distraught, wondering what had happened to her.

They never saw her again. His parents became depressed and both signed off work. Jeremy took on a job at a local supermarket, working every hour he could to keep them afloat, eventually taking on a night job as well as a bar tender when he was old enough. His grades, that hadn’t been good to begin with, suffered even more and he came out with hardly any qualifications to his name but gained skills in his jobs which would help him.

His mother never really recovered and quit her job. She then became ill and ended up in hospital. She was in such a state that eventually she was sent to a psychiatric ward and then finally a home. What caused this was the revelation that Elisha had been viciously mauled and raped by a pack of lycanthropes, who had each taken their turn with her beautiful daughter and left her for dead. Elisha had attacked the staff in panic, scared and confused but had managed to infect two of them. One later committed suicide by shooting himself in the head while the other one fled the state.

Jeremy’s father went back to work then got transferred to New York. Jeremy was tempted to go with him but decided to stay, dropping his supermarket job for one in admin at a publishing company. It was while tending one night that he met his girlfriend, Rachel who has been with every since. He moved in with her and eventually they found a flat together in the French Quarter.

It was Rachel who pointed out the job for preternatural law enforcement officers in the paper and suggested he put his resume in. At first he wasn’t unsure but with her encouragement, he did and when he got the job, he took her out for a slap up meal as a thank you present, as now he was doing what he’d always wanted to do.

He was put in the same office as a man called Charlie Dewberry, a seemingly cold heavie who at first wouldn’t even speak to him. But after a few jobs and forced communications, they started to get on and now make the perfect team.

He was the officer who questioned Drew Forrester and assisted in his arrest for being an unregistered preternatural and not registering his business.

Strengths: His way with words. He is the department’s top interrogator and will not think twice before muscling in somewhere and making an arrest. Like Dewberry, he is proficient with hand guns and is also skilled in hand to hand combat.

Weaknesses: He can sometimes push things too far and has made judgmental errors in the past. Even though he is good at interrogation, even he can’t get the answers out of some and his methods can cause people to clam up in fear. He is injured quite easy and even a small knock can cause a bruise.

Quirks: He shares Dewberry’s love of Mar Bars and his girlfriend’s love of Peaches Schnappes though he never drinks it in public. He carries round a set of plasters in his back pocket in case he gets injured as his blood can take a while to clot. Smokes only certain brands of cigarettes.

Other: Tams is classed as an NPC character and is only playable by Michelle.
