Over the past four years, Nate has sized up a bit, his muscles
being larger and his body being more toned and defined in general, making him
appear broader and much bigger than before. He still wears hoodies and his
usual attire but now wears more vest tops and gels his hair more. He has also
ditched the makeup when he goes out and tends to wear bandanas now. His hyena form is of
a nearly white haired hyena with dark stripes. It is slightly larger than a
normal hyena and has yellow almost glowing eyes. His mouth is usually drawn
up into a toothy grin, especially around Kyra and her cold power. The hyena’s
scent is of cinnamon. Personality:
Nathan is quite chatty and outgoing. Since moving to NO, he has lost some his
naivety about shifters after meeting some other hyenas and has a more mature
head on his shoulders. It takes a lot to anger him, except when it concerns
his friends and family. He will only fight when provoked and is both strong
willed and stubborn. He is also very loving and protective of those who he
cared about. Nate is still as chatty and as outgoing as before but now has
a harder and more serious side. This has been nurtured and emerged thanks to
Caine’s training and his job at Vicious Longings. He now knows a lot about
shifters and their cultures and uses this to his advantage in situations. He
is still hard to anger, but is extremely protective of Kyra, his friends and
his clan. He is very loyal to Caine, doing whatever his Oba asks of him, as
well as to Kyra. History:
Nathan was born in Las Vegas, the city of gambling and music. He grew up
surrounded by the scene as his dad worked in one of the casinos as a croupier
and his mother was a cabaret singer, touring the local circuit. He usually
spent his time with his mum but was very often left in the care of his
grandparents who he regarded as second parents. He was heartbroken when they
died, he was six years old, and endured further tragedy when his parents were
killed in a car crash, leaving Nathan in the care of the authorities. He hated his first foster parents and had two more before
being adopted at the age of ten and moving to Detroit, a far cry from Las
Vegas and the life he was used to. Nathan started to get into trouble at
school and was expelled at 15. He then got a job working with his adoptive
father at his garage, learning how to fix up cars and at eighteen became a
security guard at the local rap club. He then moved onto nightclubs and
earned enough cash to save up. Nate wanted to get the hell out of Detroit, a
place he’d grown tired of. The final straw was when one night he was attacked
by a drunk in half-and-half form who bit him on the arm, causing him to
contract the hyena form of the lycanthropy virus. After the first time he
turned furry, he knew his family wouldn't be able to cope with his dark
secret and left home for their sake as much as his own. For Nate, the last
four years have been a major learning experience. The only thing which
hasn’t really changed much is his relationship. Kyra and Nate are still
very much in love and Kyra has now made Nate a partner in Les Deux Monde. Nate is now a member
of the Iron Tooth clan and had an active part in the PAR underground group,
following Caine into the riot and only just avoiding being arrested during the
infamous 2008 riot. The potential as seen by Caine emerged, making Nate an
alpha within a year thanks to Caine’s immense training. He has recently
been promoted to Ori in the group and is now awaiting his first charge. As well as working
as assistant and baker in the Les Deux Monde, Nate now works in Vicious
Longings alongside Caine. This experience has given the new alpha a hardened
shell and has allowed Nate to flourish in the role. Strengths: His security training means he now can disarm people even better than before and Caine has given him training in handguns and swords. He can now shift forms without tiring at all and can heal through sex, a offshoot from his private life with Kyra. Soon he will also be able to shift only his hands; this is a work in process. Weaknesses: If he shifts too many times in one
day, he does start to tire. His shifting also isn’t quite as smooth as
other alphas currently. Also a side effect for some reason has been that he
has become more intolerant of silver, the slightest touch of it burning his
skin. His new outlook means he’s more likely to get himself into dangerous
situations. Quirks: Is addicted to waffle cones and the
food at AJs. Loves going to the gym and spending time with Kyra. He also is a
mean baker and his specialities are cookies and three chocolate cheesecake. Other: |
