Personality:
Kate is strong and intelligent woman. She is straight- forward and honest
with all she meets. This does not mean that Kate is a pushover,she is not.
She is tough when she needs to be,tender when she needs to be. She does not
coddle or hand hold but is always there with a strong support and a tender
hand when needed. She loves to laugh and is quick with an easy smile. Kate
also is outed as a tiger and proud of it,this has caused her several run ins
and still she doesn't seem to learn her lesson. History:
Kate was born and raised in New York City,NY to Ira and Mary Russell. The
oldest of eight children Kate learned at an early age how to care for herself
and what her parents expected of her. She rarely caused them trouble as a
child and minded her manners. That of course all went out the window when
Kate entered high school and fell in with the wrong crowd. She let her grades
slide,she drank,she smoked and even supposedly slept with a boy or two. Upon
her graduation of high school Kate set out to live life to its fullest and
went on the road, travelling from city to city, doing whatever and whoever
she felt like. It was this behavior that nearly got her killed and changed
her life forever. One night,in LA,Kate was partying with a group of people and
met a man,she couldn't wait to go home with. Her was tall and handsome and
had this air of danger about him. So when he asked her back to his place at
the end of the evening Kate readily accepted and went with him. Two days later Kate woke in the LA county hospital badly
beaten, bitten and sliced up. When questioned by the staff Kate could not
remember much except for the man and claws and teeth. After much recuperation
and treatment Kate was then tested and was found to be infected by some sort
of cat. Fearing for their other patients the hospital released the young
woman. Finding herself on the street,infected and no place to go,Kate
did the one thing she could think of she, went home. Upon arriving back home
she moved back in with her parents,researched her infection and when she
changed,she found out what she was. After that Kate sought out a tiger group
to help teach her their way of life. It was during this time Kate found
herself getting back on track,,heading back to school,moving up in the tiger
group and settling into a good life within the city and the tigers. As time progressed Kate ended up as the second in command in
nyc,working for a preternatural magazine that explored the shfiter lifestyle.
She had her own place,her tiger family and then she met a man named Jack.
While their meeting wss brief,Kate knew it was important to forge any
alliance she could with any tiger she met,just in case. After Jack left her
life Kate, still kept in touch with the man and continued to cultivate that
friendship. This time also brought Kate many enemies. Because of her open
and honest stance on shifters, she was targeted by several hate groups and
even a few bounty hunters. After several years of this the magazine decided
that Kate was too hot for NYC and decided she needed to be relocated to one
of their smaller magazines offering her a shot to be an editor in chief for
their magazine in New Orleans. Angered at first by this offer Kate continued
to work for the magazine in nyc while she contemplated her options. It was a letter from Jack offering her the second in command
position in his amuk in New Orleans,that offered Kate a chance for a change.
Deciding she would like to be part of Jack's amuk she accepted his offer and
accepted the magazine's offer as well. She has now packed up and is on her
way to New Orleans,to start her new life. Leaving,she hopes, all the mistakes
of the past, behind. Strengths:
Kate has been a tiger for more than half her life and is very comfortable and
in touch with her beast. She can ignore most alpha's call(unless it a true
king or queen), she can heal by touch and can hold off the change until the
last moments. She has also trained in several types of martial arts and can
handle small knives. Weaknesses: She
has a human allergy to silver and that has translated to a deadly allergy for
her as a shifter. She can not shift parts at will and has stopped growing in
power. Her being out as a shifter has caused her to be attacked several times
and nearly killed. She has made enemies over the years that would love
nothing more than to kill the out and loud tigeress. Quirks:
Kate has a thing for muscle cars. She bought the car "eleanor" from
