Eyes: Gray
Personality:
Self-Contained and Assured. Fauve is quiet with people whom she does not
know. She is not shy, she is observing and reserving judgement. She is a
strong woman who will do whatever she deems needed to forward her goals. She
resembles a model, but is annoyed when people mention the fact, preferring
instead to be on the other end of her camera. She is canny (some would say
uncanny) and hard to pin down unless she wants to. Among others she keeps to
herself, until she deems some one or thing worthy and then she gives her all.
She is a vibrant and colorful woman with strong emotions and preferences. History:
Fauve was born into a normal middle class family in Northumberland, UK. She learned
local history and often went bird watching with her mother, even as a very
young child, delighting in watching the birds and helping her mother identify
them. She proved to have a very good ear for bird song, easily picking one
song from the morning noise. The English countryside is a delightful place
for a child and she grew up healthy and active. The eldest child, she often
helped her parents care and raise her younger siblings. When she was 12 her
father gave her a camera and instead of photos of her human friends and
family, she immediately took it outside. Her first show of her nature
photography was when she was 15 in a local gallery. Someone attending the
show noticed the child's keen eye and lovely long legs and decided to keep
her in his sights. While her reputation as an outstanding photographer grew,
so did her seen and unseen fan base. Fox Alpha Devon O'Siobhan basically stalked her for the next
three years, observing her uninhibited love of life and keen instincts. He
badly misjudged her, seeing only the charming young woman and not the
stronger personality within. When she was getting ready to go on her first
photo shoot to Africa, he became concerned that shifters there would see his
'red flower' so he arranged for her infection the month prior to her trip- a
bite from a fox in the field that healed quickly. Devon had not realized that
taking his fair flower would forever incur her wrath- she still has not
forgiven her maker although she has made a peace with her new nature. She
proved to be no pushover to his will and worked hard from the onset to break
any ties to him. She was not thankful for his meddling and refused to do his
bidding whenever possible, her anger at him making her strength ever more
formidable. His Den had tried to dissuade him from his obsessions but had
failed to do so- and her anger spilled over onto those who should have
protected her from him, but did not. Within the De! n she worked to improve
the lives of the betas, and young alphas, and mentored them in any way that
she could, to see their own worth and work to keep each other safe, and to
better their lives. One of these young Foxes later entered politics and is a
junior member of parliament, working for the rights of shifters in the UK.
She does keep track of these younger Den members and refers to them as
sisters and brothers in casual conversation. Her family supported her and has never made issue with her
being a werefox- in fact her mother has since confided that other members of
the extended family had been were creatures as the countryside was once the
hunting grounds for many types of lycans. In those early years she worked
hard to learn about and master her nature, more to get away from those who
had infected her then to be a power in the Den. She became a strong alpha and
when she felt that she was able, she left that Den forever. She has since
belonged to two Dens, one in Europe for a time and one in Alaska just briefly
when she was working on the wildlife of the arctic. Since her very first photo shoot, her fame as a nature
photographer has continued to grow and she works for such magazines as
Audubon and National Geographic. At the moment she has begun a series on The
wildlife of southern United States, and chose New Orleans as a base. Her
first step in the series was the everglades and parts of this series were
published in the Smithsonian magazine which required her to attend several
functions in Washington DC. She continues to have a wholesome and loving connection
with her family, and mentors her younger siblings and previous Den-mates when
ever possible. Strengths: She
uses her abilities to hunt down even the rarest creatures to photograph. she
can partially shift at will. Her touch can call and soothe other's beasts and
she seems able to do some minor healing above the normal level but is not a
master healer. She is able to project calm, especially among larger creatures
which also allows her to photograph even dangerous animals. Among Fox she is
a strong alpha and is able to draw information and hidden talents from those
around her. She often hikes into remote areas to photograph and can hike
almost tirelessly. She rarely gets lost and never suffers from the sicknesses
associated with travel. Weaknesses: she
is VERY allergic to silver and as a photographer this used to be more of a
problem, until she switched to digital cameras. She still needs to be very
careful when handing old photographic equipment and photos. Along with the
allergy, she is sensitive to bad sunburns due to her coloration. Bright
lights and direct sunlight give her headaches when she does not wear
protection. She carries a high SPF in her purse at all times. She dislikes it
when people call her 'elfin' or remark on her fey beauty as she associates
that with the man who stalked and turned her. She is irritated in fact by
almost any mention of her own beauty, but is VERY proud of her work and will
put herself in dangerous situations just to get the best possible images. She
holds grudges for a very long time which can be a burden emotionally. Quirks:
Like a fox, she hordes food and has a large pantry. She eats more then her
size warrants and seems to be always hungry. She has tried the local cuisine
everywhere she goes and never hesitates to try anything offered. This has
gained her friends in the bush everywhere she has worked. She never goes
anywhere without at least one camera with her, not even the farmer's market. Other: The
walls of her home are covered with her own photos, of many different animals
and a surprising number of Shifters. She has toyed with the idea of a coffee
table book of shifter portraits, as a way to promote cultural acceptance but
has never approached a publisher with the idea |
