Eyes: Brown
His animal form is that of a black panther from the line of
the Jaguar. His size is nearly half again that of a jaguar, and his form
show's the muscle beneath the fur. If the light hits his fur just right, one
can see the square patterns with in the fur. Personality: Due
to the fact he was raised by a South American Tribe, he was taught how to be
fair, strong, and firm due to the constant dangers around him. Due to the
culture he was raised around, he has gained a tolerance for pain, and learned
when to acknowledge when something is foolish to do, and flat out stupid.
He's very blunt as well, having gained that from his deceased parents, and if
someone in status below him in the village disobeyed him (and if the council
gave permission), he always gave fair punishment. Never giving a punishment
more sever than the crime. Due to this he has also developed the
charateristic that allows others to see him as a reliable, and independant.
They see confidence in his actions of every day tasks and knowledge, and come
to trust his opinion and leadership. History:
William Dex was brought into the world by two young Archeologists. The two had
met during one of their explorations of the ruins in South America, and had instantly
clicked. When the time neared, his parents were on another trip, as his
father could not convince her to stay behind. Thus he was born in the local
tribe of where he would be raised. The current trip still had two more years of exploration, and thus
William grew up the first two years of his life amongst the local children.
Once the time had expired his parent's returned to the states to New Orleans.
He lived there for the next six years as he his parents assisted the local
college and museums in understanding the artifacts they had discovered. He
was home taught by either one of his parents or by a home school teacher. He
was never with out, and never thought about wanting a sibling. Shortly after turning eight years old, his parent's were asked
to go out in the field again back to where they had been six years ago, as
the discoveries had been a great help in understanding Mayan culture. Thus he
returned to the place he had always considered home, and it would soon be
home. It was about seven month's in returning, and his parents had gone out
to explore a more weathered ruin that the accident happened. They had not
known there was still a local tribe near the grounds that considered it
religious and was still in the old ways. As the body-guard they had were also
non-informed,the whole party was killed in the attack as the tribe protected
their sacred grounds. Once the news returned...William mourned for a
month...and the village mourned with him. Despite the fact that their parent's will said everything
would go to him, he could not return to New Orleans. Instead he remained with
the tribe, and became diligent in learning their customs, and the lay of the
land. The language became second nature to him, and he soon learned were all
the territories were for the different tribes. This all took him ten years to
learn the land and people by memory. During his exploration, and living with the village, he became
a well toned man as he grew. For the survival of the village in the jungle
was not an easy life, and the tasks required a boy and man to be able to lift
tree's after bad rainfalls and wash-outs, to repair homes, ward off the local
wild life, and of rare times, attacks of the nearby enemy tribes. He also learned the local style of fighting and defense. He
also took up the knowledge of how to use a machete and rifle for when
fighting with his head and body was not enough. In this, he soon was able to
become an excellent guide and body guard. At first he refused the services
every time rich tourists came through, or other Archeologists. However as
they were determined to explore even with out guides and protection, he
always ended up going. Soon he came to do it as a profession. After each service he
would take the two day travel to the nearest city to deposit the money into
the bank account that his parents had given him, and the money simply grew as
he rarely needed anything to buy. He kept this up for the next seven years, and it was after a
great threat of a local panther and his defeat over it, that he finally
earned his right into adulthood. He gained his first, and only tattoo of the
tribe. It took a month to get the entire tattoo on his back, and it was the
image of a panther hidden with in the foliage. He soon became known as Shadow
Killer to those in the village due to his accomplishment. A few days later, another tourist came through, and asked to
be taken to see some ruins they had heard about. He agreed to take them
there, and told them specifically not to wander off the trail he created. However,
as most rich people go, they ignored his warning, and he had to chase them
down. In doing so he found them confronted by another Panther...this one he
recognized as the mate to the one he had killed from when he tracked the
other. He tried to encourage the tourists to step back slowly, still
facing the beast, and not to make any sudden movements. Before he could
finish explaining his instructions, the male had pulled a gun out, and aimed
at the feline. In his desire to protect the environment around them, William
ended up pushing the man out of the way and throwing the shot off. However
the mans finger still pulled on the trigger from the impact, and hit the
feline. Unaware that this panther was actually a shape-shifter, not
the mate of the other panther, and thus making it far more intelligent.
However as the pain hit from the shot, both the beast and human became
enraged and attacked the the party. The other guides and body-guards did
their best to chase the creature away, but not before William and the two
tourists and been mauled. The injuries were not great on the three of them,
as the shifter had three enemies to face, but the trip was ended immediately.
The two tourists did not contract the lycan disease, but
William did. However as the full moon had already past, William was
completely unaware of his predicament. It wouldn't be for another two weeks
before he'd become aware. Yes there were the signs of enhancement, but he did
not make the connection. It wasn't until the full moon, when he was out
tracking for the feline that had attacked, that it happened. He felt the queasiness at first, and then just the sudden
explosion of his beast coming out. Unlike most shifters on their first time,
William was completely aware of what was going thanks to the culture he had
been raised in for the discipline of mind and body. However it did not hide
the fear he felt that caused him to release the roar of anguish. He stayed away from the village for four days, making sure
that there was no chance he could loose control of himself, before he
returned. The elders could seen the change in his eyes, and an emergency
meeting was held. There he explained what had happened. Instead of
banishment, they instead grinned. Explaining that he was blessed by the gods,
and that this was a sign that they had finally been forgiven for their
ancestors sins. He was to be the new guardian of the village. With this information, William was given new tasks and
responsibilities, and nearly as much power as the elders. Many resented him
for this at first, and it was after the elders encountered a group that was
going to attempt to beat William, that the elders decided it was time to
explain what had happened. Once the village understood, there was a mix of
reactions. Some rejoiced in the knowledged, others hated him more for it, and
others looked upon him with fear now for not everyone saw this as a blessing.
William learned to deal with how people treated him. Never
allowing the praise to get to his head, nor react in anger on the persecution
and fear. This taught him patience and the ability to remain indifferent and
a strong leader, for leader he had become. He was soon giving out punishments
for crimes, never giving a punishment that was more sever than the crime that
was committed. With this a few more people came to respect him in the next
five years. However the respect was soon ended on his thirtieth birthday.
Those that hated him, set him up. They had found another panther, and had
encouraged it to attack one of their own. However, instead of blaming it upon
the normal panther, they claimed that it was William, acting out with out the
councils permission to stop them, and had attacked him. With what appeared to
be obvious proof, William had no choice but to leave. As much as the Elders
knew it could not be him, the village was demanding justice. Once cast out of his home, William was lost and confused for
two weeks. It was near the end of the two weeks that he re-called the home
his parent's had in New Orleans. With this, he decided it was time to return
back to civilization. He has decided to still hire himself out as a hired
body-guard in the city, and is currently learning the laws of the city. Strengths: As
his panther breed decides from the Jaguar line in South America he is
extremly strong. His will and power as an Alpha in his aura tends to over
whelm Beta's and even most Alpha's, but not all. For Beta's it's his aura
that show's the dominance, and for alpha's it's more showing that he can hold
his own in fight should they consider attacking. As he's still new as an
Alpha he is still developing into his powers. Once he is completely settled
into his powers he will discover that he can control his shifting to the
point of doing only partial shifts. Weaknesses: Due
to his lack of being in such a developed culture, he can appear to be naive
about things going on in New Orleans. With his culture difference as well, he
can be taken advantage of due to the vast difference. In his were form, due
to the size he is slower than most others shifters, giving them the advantage
to land more hits. He also has the usual lycan weaknesses, and in addition to
silver he also has a reaction to gold due to where he had been bitten. Though
he can do partial shifting, he can not maintain a partial shift for more than
hour before he has to either revert to a full panther or back to a full
human. If he does not choose, than his beast normally chooses for him. He is
than afterwards exhausted greatly and must spend five hours to recooperate,
though he tends to hide this weakness the best he can. Quirks:
Unlike most men from what he's observed thus far in New Orleans (and the
U.S.), he prefers his women to be independant from him. For such signs in the
South American tribe's, this showed that a woman could take care of herself
and their family should the man fall from illness or an attack. Other: |
