It has sixteen occult symbols in and around it. A few look like Egyptian hieroglyphs married with Nordic runes while others are bastardised religious symbols - the Jain Dharma swastika, the Ek Onkar, the Torii to name a few. Most of it has healthy white scarring, but the circle itself and three symbols are charred black and are rough to the touch. He also has a torn left earlobe and a scar across his cheekbone, and he has no left eye. Appearance: Mathias is slim and toned, not very muscled but not undefined. He is attractive and fine-boned, though non-threatening. He has a neat beard and moustache to keep his otherwise androgynous features masculine. There is something in his close vicinity that sends a chill down a sensitive’s back, some perceiving it as danger, death or just a thrill. The scars on the left side of his face seem to move in the peripheral vision, as do the burns on his back. He always wears an eye patch. Personality: Ire is pleasant and subdued most of the time, keeping his head attached to his neck by keeping it down. He is not dominating, though he is not as submissive as he seems, and knows how to apply pressure to get what he or his master wants. He feels little to no guilt using people. He has passion that comes out when set tasks, and when he gets angry. He dislikes humans with preternatural power, including shapeshifter and human servants, and routinely killed them until vampires became legal, though he has never touched anothers Human Servant. History: Mathias was not born with that name, and does not talk about his life as a human. If pressed he will say he was a bastard son of a lord, which is not quite the truth, though not outright lying. The vampire who changed him is old and powerful, but impatient with Ire. She refused to teach him anything, and enjoyed berating him for his stupidity. Almost a century and a half of wandering, his Master was forgiven by their Sourede de Sang and allowed to return to Paris. She sent him to America, with a task to Master a City. He knew she was telling him to go and die. Never the less, he left her to do her bidding. He knows one so young has no chance, but he plans to find a city and wait until he has power enough to get what his maker wants. He took up residence in New Orleans in Damien’s Kiss, but displeased him. It wasn’t enough reason to kill him, but he was banished from the city. A year after that and Damien was killed, though Ire has yet to discover this. Strengths: He has semi-mastered a few of his lines abilities. He is a rotter, making him very hard to kill, he can fly a short distance and he can call sparrows. He knows a lot about dark magic, even though he can no longer work it. Weaknesses: Having been left to teach himself about vampirism, he isn’t as good at mind-rolling as those a few decades younger. He is also prone to bloodlusts, and when his emotional control slips so does his ability to keep from rotting. It takes him a while to re-form from rotting. He can rarely get more than one sparrow to answer his call as it is a very new power. Quirks: He touches his scar often, even when its hidden under a glamour. He traces sigles with his middle finger on flat surfaces without appearing to notice. Other: He sold the land to property developers, and has a small mountain of money. He speaks French, German, Latin and English, and speaks with a faint German accent.
