Personality: At first meeting Valan comes across charming and chauvinistic. Behind the personal visage is the polite caring individual. He likes to interact with everyone, has an intense interest with getting to know people and a thirst for knowledge. History: Valan was born in January 1763 in Russia, to the proud rich parents Lord Czar and Lady Alexis Yakoff. His parents called him, Valan Czar Yakoff, naming him after his father Czar Yakoff, following the family tradition. His first name was given to him by his mother; she named him after her father 'Valan' Fyodor. Valan was an only child and born in a small town just outside Moscow. As a child Valan seemed to excel at writing, learning. As his hand touched paper, he beautifully wrote words like an art. With his smarts he developed wit and a sense of humour, which often got him into trouble with the local teachers. After school Valan revelled in the idea of leaving Russia on a grand tour; from the age of 10 Valan loved to listen to stories of his father’s travels, his adventure across the world. Thus on his 17th birthday, he left Russia and the cold to travel across the world. Just like his father, his mission was to find a place in which he could trust himself to fulfil his own dreams. On this grand tour he travelled across the ice, his boat harboured in Sweden weeks after he left Russia. It was here that he became popular with the ladies. After stopping in Sweden for a few months he eventually left, continuing his Grand tour and leaving his boat behind. Whilst on board the ship he boarded, he became known as a talented aristocrat, as popular with the Maidens with he had been in Sweden. Valan arrived in Paris in February 1784. As one of the rich he attended all manners of parties, his reputation now preceding him. In the following month, Valan attended The Royal Opera, in which King Louis XVI attended personally. It was here where he became acquainted with an estranged woman. She introduced herself as Adelie, a frowned upon mixed race lady. But somehow her beauty captivated him; her skin was flawless, her bite was painless. It was that night that he was made a vampire. Adelie welcomed him into a new life. Bound to this woman he began his next life, the journey into a new horizon. She was his Master, his world. Together they chose to remain in Paris and continued to attend the grand parties, as if to keep up appearances. Eventually it was at this point when he dropped his last name. In the years to come they remained in the capital. They bore witness to the execution of Louis XVI and his mistress Marie Antoinette in the French Revolution. They occasionally also visited Berlin; it was here Adelie turned yet another young male of the name of Gunthar. In 1809 Valan and his mistress fled France after they were discovered by hunters. They both headed across the channel to England where they relocated into London. Together they met the Master of London Cornelius and his second in command, Kasper. In the years that followed as Adelie fell in love with Kasper, tying herself to London, Valan became fascinated with Isaac Newton and his theories. But to avoid attention by hunters they moved up and down the country. In June 1914, Valan decided that he wanted to return to Russia, his cold wintery forgotten home. He told Adelie that he planned to leave England. To his surprise she became hesitant, wanting to stop in England with Kasper. Feeling almost abandoned by Adelie, he stayed as she reminded him that she was his maker and tied to her until she let him go, so he remained. Later that year, Cornelius was attacked by a rival Master Vampire who wanted to ascend to Master of London. After a valiant fight, Cornelius was defeated and killed. To Adelie's dismay, Kasper was also killed in the fray leaving her bitter. Eventually she agreed to leave London. With there been nothing left, on the trip home Adelie’s bitterness was felt so much that on the stop off in France, she decided that they were staying. Valan discovered that Germany had gone to war with the world. Together they watched the war on the fields of battle. They hid until the night then they hunted the wounded, preying on their weaknesses and Adelie taking her emotions out on everyone. There they also reacquainted with Gunthar there. Finally at the end of the war they both finally made it to Moscow. Once there Valan marvelled at the change. He visited his parents’ graves as a sign of respect; a memory he likes to keep secret and which only close people know of. There in the cold long dark days of winter he and his mistress waited. Being still consumed by bitterness, she seemed to neglect him. It was in 1939 that the Soviet Union received word that Germany had begun the next World War. With this information, he and Adelie left Moscow. Together they headed to Germany. It was during the war they became reacquainted with Gunthar. After the war they remained in Germany now in the care of a new vampire master called Alexis, the Master of the City of Berlin. With Hitler defeated, they ushered a new change in the vampire community. At the turn of 1995 after years of service, Adelie broke away and fled from Germany, leaving Valan alone for reasons unknown to him. The stress became unbearable for Valan. After months of being alone, his body began to feel weaker; being away from Adelie seemed to make him feel less even under the new Master. By accident while making his way back to the lair after a hunt, Valan met Kyle, a uncontrolled Lycanthrope struggling in a nearby park. Valan, feeling adventurous, decided to help Kyle for something to take his mind off his own thoughts, him seeming to understand that the Lycanthrope was denying what he was. Together they formed a friendship. Valan, liking this new dominant personality that he seemed to gain, began to control it and help it grow. This also helped him to control Kyle's beast by guidance and control. The Master of Berlin credited Valan for his abilities to ease people. Feeling his powers growing and with his abilities to help control Kyle's beast, he soon realised that he had mastered himself thus becoming a Master Vampire. He had also gained the tiger as his animal to call. With this new breath of life, he decided to embark on his next mission. Leaving Berlin and now bound to Kyle, he sent a formal request to Saelan, asking to move to New Orleans. Together he and Kyle left Germany and headed to New Orleans to meet with Saelan and his kiss. Over the last four years, Valan settled into the kiss, had his home remodelled after Hurricane Katrina and kept a watchful eye on Kyle's private life. He also brought to justice the lycanthrope murderer. His and Kyle's relationship grew after Kyle turned to Valan for support after Maggie left. Strengths: Valan seems to have a gift of persuasion and his aura seems to give a calming effect to everything around him. His abilities are to cast shadows and his animal to call is the tiger. Weaknesses: He is more suspectible to other vampires' mind tricks and attacks. His powers are still growing, making him vulnerable at times. Normal vampire weaknesses. Quirks: Valan can be talkative at times. Other: Carries a duel blade and rifle which was a gift from a dying soldier. He is also fluent in five languages; Russian, Swedish, French, English and German. His middle name Czar is Russian for leader.
