Personality:
Raine is a cool, genteel southern bred lady. She is extremely intelligent,
always level headed and very caring. She's very soft hearted. She's friendly
in an unobtrusive quiet way. Very down to earth. Has a general liking for
everyone, but has never been particularly fond of vampires. History:
Raine and her twin sister Brittany were raised on a small plantation outside
of New Orleans's LA, where her father, Domaine Deveraux was a
parapsychologist. Their mother, Letitia Calais was once the most celebrated
beauty in French films. She was also a white witch, or Earth mother. When the
twins were 11, their mother died, the victim of an demonic possession gone
wrong. Before dying, Letitia had passed on her power and love of the earth to
Raine, and her vivaciousness and love of the spotlight to Brit. Raine became
well known in the bayous of Louisiana as a "healer". The Cajuns in
the bayou often refer to her strictly as "The Deveraux". The twins
are extreme polar opposite, Brittany is outgoing, Raine is more understated,
often seeming quiet and shy. Brit is the seductress, Raine, the domestic
goddess. A few years ago, her sister, an international Supermodel,
disappeared. She was on a luxury yacht in the Mediterranean with an unseemly
crowd. She had started hanging with the European " Paranormal
Elite". The yacht disappeared, leaving no trace of it's whereabouts, and
no trace of her sister. The Coast Guard say it sank in a freak storm, but the
water's were too deep to retrieve any remains. Raine knows differently. If
her sister were dead, she'd feel it. Deep down inside, she knows she's there
somewhere. Soon after her sister disappeared, Raine was swept off her
feet by an enigmatic Vampire Hunter. Unfortnately her happiness was cut
short, when Sebastian was tortured and killed in California by a vicious
Vampire he had been hunting. He had been strung up on a cross, all the blood
drained from his body. Though Raine wasn't there, she had seen everything
happen in a vision, and was unable to save him. To say that has fed her
hatred of vampires, would be an understatement. Now, Raine concentrates on
her store, "Nature's Raine". which deals in natural remedies, and
new age things. Everything from herbs to crystals. Strengths:
Raine is a natural healer. The power is inbred in her, it comes from her
mother's side of the family. She has the "soothing touch". With a
lay of hands, she can heal most injuries, if fresh. She cannot however cure
diseases, or make people walk when before they were crippled. She often has
visions of things as they happen, but she has no power of when and where the
visions occur. Weaknesses:
Though Raine has powers, and is a practising "white witch", she is
still human. She has no extraordinary strengths, she bleeds the same as any
other human. For some reason, hand in hand with her powers, is the
sensitivity to Vampire influence. (glamour, rolling of the mind, etc.) Quirks:
Raine has in inate hatredof the vampiric community. She loves to bake. Other: The
