Personality: Serenity is laid back though quick to defend herself. Not meaning that she is trigger happy, just she only takes so much from those around her. She is very work oriented and spends much of her time thinking and working on the cases that she is given, leaving little time for other things in her life. Being a witch, she has had her share of prejudice in her life, she has overcome it by diving into her work and keeping people away from her on a personal level. Most of the guys, both on the NOPD and the RPIT Unit call her 'cold hearted witch' and she likes it, though they don't know that she knows of the nickname. It doesn't bother her, just reminds her why she keeps others away. History: Serenity was born into a working class family in Montana. Her mother was a practicing witch in the local coven and her father was a small rancher. She grew up surrounded by men, hence her tomboyishness. She helped her father work the ranch and would go on overnight roundups with them. Her mother taught her both regular school academics and provided her knowledge of her Wiccan roots. Her parents are still alive and maintaining the ranch and she visits them whenever she gets the chance, helping to keep her touch with small town values. By the age of 16 she had decided she wanted to be a cop, which surprised both her parents and the ranchhands that worked for them. They just assumed that she would take over the ranch when she grew up. Serenity had different plans. Once graduating high school she went to the nearest state university to work on her degree in criminology and took elective courses in preternatural studies. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in criminology and a minor bachelors degree in preternatural studies. She then applied to the FBI academy and was turned down. She was a witch after all and the FBI didn't allow that type of person on board. She wasn't discouraged by this, she just decided to apply the local police academy in Billings and they accepted her there with no problems. After graduating the she signed on with the Billings PD and worked there for a few years. While on vacation with some friends in New Orleans, she found that she loved the city and decided to fish around for a job there. It seemed that New Orleans didn't discriminate against preternaturals and she was offered a job there while on vacation. She accepted and within a month she was home, packed and moved into the apartment she had found in the French Quarter. She felt that she fit right into the local crowd, not being odd man out. After a year on the regular NOPD, she applied to the RPIT Unit and was accepted. She had a good record and the plus was that she was a witch, which they needed on the unit. She is still new on the unit and learning the ropes. The guys don't treat her with kid hands, they know where they stand with her and value her input. Strengths: Her Wiccan heritage allows her to sense spells easily. She can tell preternatural beings, but not exactly 'what' they are, she just knows they are not 'human'. She can read Auras, which allows her to see this. She is a good shot with guns and goes to the range as often as she can. Weaknesses: Normal human weaknesses. Being a witch, Serenity can read and feel auras, thus if anyone with a true evil aura or a stronger witch gets to close to her (as in personal space about 12 inches from her body) she is overwhelmed by the presence often making her seem flustered and confused. She tends to keep space between her and anyone standing close to her. This also makes her ability in hand to hand combat difficult. Quirks: Other:
