AJs Bar and Grill

Located on St Charles Street, not far from the French Quarters, AJs is a bar and grill owned by the Forrester’s for many years and currently owned by Drew who can be usually found serving behind the bar, in his office out the back, or in his apartment just above the establishment. The seating area consists of booths and tables, the booths being around the wall of the building and the tables in the middle. There are also stools at the bar. AJs is also kitted out with a games area in the back room, featuring pool tables, darts tables and a jukeboxes, with several high end bar tables with stools to sit at. Behind the bar are a couple of TVs, tuned into ESPN or 24-hours news for those with a viewing disposition.

Food: AJs is famous through New Orleans for its variety and quality of food, served now until 4a.m. (last orders 3.30a.m). It serves a variety of burgers, its trademark being the Big Easy burger (full pound ground sirloin served with Tabasco sauce, shredded cheddar and jack cheeses and all the trimmings) and a vast variety of buffalo-style wings. Known as AJs “Gator Wings” these include, Avery Island (HOT Tabasco flavored), classic Buffalo-style spicy wings, ranch, Hawaiian and garlic, all with a variety of dipping sauces. A specialty side of AJs is the hand dipped beer batter onion rings and fries, though normal versions are available, as are other sides.

Drinks: AJs doesn’t sell hard liquor but it does serve Bud, Bud Light, Fosters and Guinness on tap. Harps, Heineken and Millers are also available in bottles from the cooler. Soft drinks include Coke (not Pepsi), Dr Pepper, Mountain Dew, Root Beer, Spite and Iced tea.

Opening hours: 11am to 5am Mondays-Saturdays, closed on Sundays. All ages are welcome from 11am-11pm, 21 and over only after 11pm. All species welcomed.

Staff: Drew is usually behind the bar from mid-afternoon until 5am but at times when he isn’t, there are three principal NPC staff members who man the place. The day cook who never emerges from the kitchen is called Bertram; his wife is called Ernestine and waits on the table and bar when Nadine, the third staff member is not around. (Yes Bert and Ernie but only Drew calls them that to their faces, no one else). To anyone else it is Miss Ernestine and Nadine is Nadine or Nadia. Bert and Ernie are the polar opposites of each other, Bert short, skinny and quiet when not mumbling, Ernie, tall, round and touchy but loves to mother the regulars. Nadia is a forty-odd with a tall bleached blonde beehive and blue eye shadow and mascara painted around her eyes. Stuck in her hair are usually a couple of pens, used for writing orders with.

No fighting; AJs is neutral ground for all to enjoy. Do not destroy property or get rowdy unless you want Drew to kick you out (please contact the Council if you need to do such actions for a plot)

Drew is currently NPC and available for adoption. Please contact the Council if interested in adopting him.
