Sanctuary
Sanctuary is a closely guarded secret among New Orleans locals. The small, out of the way, nightclub is both upscale and exclusive and the majority of its clientele are also members of the preternatural community. Its entrance is an unmarked door in the center of an ivy covered wall and in following with the old adage "You can't judge a book by its cover" the unassuming nature of Sanctuary door gives no hint of the sumptuous atmosphere found within.

Once inside, after being vetted by security, guests have several rooms to choose
from, most with an old world, European, feel. Sanctuary's well stocked bar is
off to the right, behind thick, green velvet curtains; the platform it
dominates is designed to make patrons feel like they're on stage. To the left
are several sitting areas arranged into small conversation nooks, where servers wind
their way around with trays full of signature cocktails and menus that change
weekly. The lighting is dim in these areas and the music muted in order to
promote a more intimate atmosphere.
A walk down a narrow hallway, ends in a short flight of stairs, at the bottom
of which several pool tables and another bar. The mood
here tends to be a bit more rowdy and the competition can be fierce. Another
hallway leads to the final, and most popular of Sanctuary's public rooms, the dance floor. Five days a week, patrons can come
here to hear the hottest DJ's from around the world spin the latest tunes. And
every Wednesday, the best and brightest stars on the local music scene perform
live.
