Heirarchy
Oba - The King or leader; his or her rule is absolute
Ogun – warrior, second in command; defender against outside (non-clan) dangers, must be a public were
Shango – equal in power to the Ogun; defender against inner dangers (clan)

Other Positions:
Ifa – not a power position, keeper of the clan, elder hyena who is consulted in issues of clan traditions and clan rules (as long as they do not violate the laws of the Oba); if this position is not filled these duties are given to the Oba.
Ori – not a power position, generally appointed in punishment, responsible for controlling new "pups," and will be punished along side the new were for misbehavior
Oka – not a power position, previous Oba, whether living or dead.

General Terms:
Baba – alpha/ dominant
Nala – non alpha or less dominant
Ikose w'aye – ceremony used for initiation into the clan
Shokpona – enemies of the clan – also anyone not recognized by the clan
Eshu – any clan member dishonored in the eyes of the clan
Clan – Public Name
Itan -- Private/Secret Name
